2009 in Review: March

In the spring I have counted one hundred and thirty-six different kinds of weather inside of four and twenty hours. - Mark Twain

By March, Spring was really springing and in the swing of things. The yard flowers were in full bloom and change was in the air. The month started with snow on the first and ended with weather warm enough to consider planting tomatoes.

My sweet cousins Katy, Sarah, and friend and I painted peacocks at Easely Amused.
I bought Mike a Smith & Wesson 9mm for our anniversary coming up in May. Mom had another set of scans that showed her cancer was on the move, and her brick wall fell down to be replaced with a wooden fence.

We traveled to New Orleans to attend the sweet wedding of our friends Matt and Katy and celebrated our friend Emily Maria's first birthday. I learned to make sure that all the soap comes out of a soap dispenser before running it through the dishwasher, and the warmer weather led us to experiment with new food on the grill and get the boat ready for summer.

We also traveled to Arkansas to memorialize my cousin John Robert and were able to visit the family cemetery and remember other members from my side who have died. On the way back from spreading part of John Robert's ashes at the Hannaford farm, we were able to drive by the house that my grandparents built and lived in until Grandmama moved to her apartment.
