2009 in Review: January

Mark Twain is one of my favorite writers. One day I'd love to have a day-by-day calendar of his quotes, as they tend to strip down life of all its spin and tell a truth that we Southerners understand.

Such as, "History doesn't repeat itself. At best it sometimes rhymes."

And "When I was younger I could remember anything, whether it happened or not."

For that reason I've decided to do a recap of 2009 month by month and take a look back at where we have been.

January '09 was cold. We didn't do much that month other than stay in and learn more about our Dante of five months.
His favorite trick at the time was to take his toy frog and throw it in the air, run after it, and repeat the process. This game was great until Frogger landed in the fireplace.

I renewed our passports for our upcoming trip and concentrated on cooking foods to keep us warm.

That's about it for January.

Of course Twain also said, "It is better to keep your mouth closed and let people think you are a fool than to open it and remove all doubt."

Good thing I never listen.
