Natchez Pilgrimage

Yesterday I drove down to the Rosalie Mansion in Natchez to be a hostess in the Fall Pilgrimage as a volunteer from my chapter of the DAR. It was a hoot.

I picked out this gown because it made me think of a line in the GA Tech fight song: "Oh, if I had a daughter sir, I'd dress her in White and Gold, And put her on the campus, to cheer the brave and bold."

They put me on the front porch to be the first person tourists would meet. So every half an hour, I gave my story about the history of the mansion. So now I know all about Peter and Eliza Little and the Wilson families and how when General Gresham took over the mansion for Union headquarters, he locked all the furniture up in the attic during the three years' Union occupation so it wouldn't be stolen.

I rock 1850s fashion.
